2025 트라이보울 기획전시
(…)그럼에도 불구하고(  )


나의 하루를 깨우는 소리, 불안하고 시끄러운 알람이나 지저귀는 새소리, 창 사이로 어렴풋이 밝아오는 빛, 길가의 빗질 소리, 부엌의 요리 소리. 반려 동물의 밥을 챙기고, 반려 식물에 분무를 해주고, 세수를 하고, 양치를 하고, 피부와 수염을 정돈하고, 우리의 하루는 시작된다. 하루의 끝에 무엇이 있는지 궁금할 틈도 없이, 일하고, 걷고, 먹고, 마시고, 보고, 듣고, 말하며 하루를 채워나간다.

채워진 하루들은 좋아하는 것과 싫어하는 것, 선호하는 것과 선호하지 않는 것, 하고 싶은 것과 하기 싫은 것, 기쁜 것과 슬픈 것, 사랑하는 것과 화나는 것, 억울한 것과 초연한 것을 지시하고, 그 채워진 하루들은 내가 된다. 날씨가 좋아 생기가 넘치고, 흐리고 찬바람이 불면 망설여지는 발걸음을 가진 우리는 이렇게 하루하루를 살아낸다.

내 마음대로 되지 않는 사건의 연속으로 가득한 우리의 삶. 그러나 잠깐의 선량한 마음이, 가벼운 친절이, 따뜻한 시선이, 짧은 민망함이, 작은 용기가 불안 위를 살아갈지라도 그 불안은 결코 공포가 아니라 말해준다. 그렇기에 우리는 또 하루를 살아간다.

2025 트라이보울 기획전시《(…)그럼에도 불구하고(  )》는 당연한 듯 흘러가는 우리의 하루하루를 담는다. 중략된(…) 상황에도, 그럼에도 불구하고, 우리는 살아있기에 우리의 공란( )은 불안과 존버, 성취와 놀이, 고뇌와 희망으로 채워져 나아간다.

모든 하루는 나의 완벽한 하루가 될 수도 되지 못할 수도 있다. 때론 매일 먹던 밥이 특별해지기도, 매일 걷던 길이 예뻐 보이기도 한다. 《(…)그럼에도 불구하고(
 )》와 함께하는 오늘이 아등바등할 필요 없이 다가온 나의 완벽한 하루, 봄날의 햇살 같은 따뜻한 위로의 하루가 되길 바란다.

The day awakens with sound―the anxious blare an alarm, the murmuring of birds, the pale light stretching through the window, the rhythmic sweep of a broom along the street, the quiet stir of a kitchen preparing for the morning. A pet waits to be fed, a plant thirsts for a mist of water. Face washed, teeth brushed, skin and beard tended―we step into another day. There is no time to wonder what lies at the day’s end. We work, walk, eat, drink, watch, listen, and speak, filling the hours until they spill over.

Each day gathers itself into a shape―what we love and loathe, what we seek and avoid, what delights us, what wounds us, what we endure and what we release. The sky is bright, and we move lightly; the wind turns sharp, and our steps hesitate. And still, we go on, stitching one day to the next.

Life is an unraveling of the unforeseen. Yet, even amid uncertainty, a fleeting kindness, a passing smile, a moment of warmth, a quiet embarrassment, a sliver of courage―these small offerings remind us that fear is not the only face of uncertainty. And so, we live another day.

(...)Nonetheless( ) gathers these unremarkable, irreplaceable days. Even in the pause of an ellipsis (...), even in the void of a blank space ( ), life presses forward. The spaces left open are filled―with hesitation and perseverance, with quiet joys and unspoken struggles, with dreams that flicker and endure.

Not every day will be perfect. But sometimes, the most ordinary meal tastes extraordinary. Sometimes, the path we walk each day is suddenly, inexplicably beautiful. May today, spent with (...)Nonetheless( ), be a day that finds you gently―without demand. May it be a quiet moment of solace, a warmth like spring sunlight resting upon your skin.
